PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a locking apparatus for an elevator landing door, which can prevent the landing door from being unlocked due to an action to open a car door by force during traveling.SOLUTION: According to a locking apparatus of the present invention, a driving-side door hanger 3 from which a driving door 5 of landing doors is hung includes a latching device 17 having a locking part 17a in a vertically rotatable manner. A driven-side door hanger 6 from which a driven door 6 of the landing doors is hung includes a receiving device 16 having an engagement part 16a to which the locking part 17a of the latching device 17 is locked. The latching device 17 includes another locking part 17b which can be locked to the engagement part 16a of the receiving device 16 upon an attempt to open the landing doors while the locking of the locking part 17a of the latching device 17 to the engagement part 16a of the receiving device 16 is released. The locking apparatus includes a return spring 17d which urges the latching device 17 so that the locking part 17a and the other locking part 17b of the latching device 17 are selectively locked to the engagement part of the receiving device 16.
