The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for managing an access to a private network which determines whether an access to an enterprise private network based on position information of a mobile communications terminal is admitted when the terminal tries to access the enterprise private network whose security is enhanced via construction of a fire wall or a virtual private network (VPN). The apparatus for managing the access to the private network comprises a user information storage part for storing identification information and estimated access position information of the mobile communications terminal used when a user accesses the private network via a mobile communications network; an access request reception part for receiving a private network access request for accessing the private network from the mobile communications terminal, wherein the private network access request includes the identification information, current position information and an IP address of the mobile communications terminal; and an access control part for determining whether private network access admission is given to the mobile communications terminal by comparing the identification information and the current position information of the mobile communications terminal included in the private network access request with the identification information and the estimated access position information of the mobile communications terminal stored at the user information storage part. |
