The fitting has a tubular body (2) defining a channel (3) including a receiving section (3.1) equipped with a fixing element (5) of a tube and with a primary annular sealing element (7). The sealing element is arranged to ensure a watertight contact between an optical cable (200) and a wall of a final housing (3.12) of the section and between the tube and the tubular body. The sealing element is mounted upstream of the fixing element so as to be pushed in the housing by an end portion of the tube upon insertion of the end portion into the fitting. An independent claim is also included for an end fitting connecting method.
