The device has a crimping blade (4) maintained and moved by a robot and comprising a crimping gimlet (5). The gimlet is adapted to gradually fold a side (2a) of a sheet part (2) by friction from a position in which the side is drawn up upwards to a folded back position on another side (3a) of another sheet part (3) during displacement of the blade. A face of the blade comprises a cross-sectional recess (6) in back of the gimlet and relative to a displacement direction (F) of the blade. The recess is in shape of circular arc whose axis is parallel to the direction.
