A PSA mode liquid crystal display device difficult to generate an afterimage can be obtained while showing a high voltage holding ratio even after a liquid crystal cell is irradiated with light. A polymer (A1) having a polymerizable unsaturated bond is contained in a liquid crystal aligning agent for the PSA mode liquid crystal display device. It is preferable that a group including the polymerizable unsaturated bond which the polymer (A1) has is at least one selected from the group consisting of a group represented by the formula (f1), a group represented by the formula (f2), and a group represented by the formula (f3).
