The present invention relates to a device and a method for managing the information of vehicle accidents. The device for managing the information of vehicle accident according to the present invention includes a map matching unit which matches an adjacent vehicle to a map provided by a navigation system formed on the vehicle according to the position of the vehicle based on the adjacent-vehicle information of the adjacent vehicle and the environment information of the vehicle when the vehicle drives; an accident assuming unit which assumes the situation of the accidents between the vehicle and the adjacent vehicle by comparing the result of an analysis of the information of the adjacent vehicle and the environment information of the vehicle; an accident information processing unit which senses the situation of the accident between the vehicle and the adjacent vehicle based on sensed values acquired by a plurality of sensors formed on the vehicle and generates accident data of the adjacent vehicle based on the result of map-matching in respect to the adjacent vehicle during a predetermined period prior to the timing that the accident situation is sensed; and an accident data storing unit which an access restriction is set and which stores the accident data generated by the accident information processing unit. |
