PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of preventing noise of a fan due to vibration and breakage of a shaft of a fan motor, a fixture, and so on by avoiding full frosting on an outdoor heat exchanger and preventing frosting on a fan.SOLUTION: An air conditioner includes a compressor, an indoor heat exchanger, an expansion valve and an outdoor heat exchanger which are annularly connected by pipes, includes an indoor fan, an outdoor fan, and a control part for controlling the compressor, the indoor fan, the expansion valve and the outdoor fan on the basis of information detected by various sorts of sensors and has a defrosting operation function for removing frost when frosting is generated on the outdoor heat exchanger in heating operation. The air conditioner further includes full frosting determination means which if heating operation is continued under present control, determines that the outdoor heat exchanger may be fully frosted, and when defrosting operation is started after determining possibility of full frosting by the full frosting determination means during heating operation, the expansion valve is controlled so as to be narrowed more than normal heating operation setting aperture from start of heating operation after end of the defrosting operation. |
