PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polycarbonate resin that has excellent color tone, transparency, heat resistance, antiweatherability and mechanical strength, and that has low residual low molecular weight components and foreign matters.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing a polycarbonate resin by filtering a polycarbonate resin obtained by melt polycondensating a carbonic diester and a dihydroxy compound comprising a hydroxy compound having a moiety represented by the following formula (1), using a filter, and then solidify it by cooling, and in which the sieve opening of the filter is 50μm or less and the increased amount of monohydroxy compound in the polycarbonate resin between before and after passing through the filter is 100 ppm by weight or less. |
