The present invention addresses the problem of further stabilizing exhaust fuel gas to be supplied from a fuel cell to a gas turbine to thereby stabilize combustion in the gas turbine in a power generation system and a method for operating a power generation system. A power generation system (10) comprises: a gas turbine (11); a fuel cell (13); an exhaust fuel gas supply line (45); an opening/closing control valve (an on-off valve) (106) which is provided in the exhaust fuel gas supply line (45); a heating means (102) which heats the exhaust fuel gas supply line (45) within a range on the upstream side from the opening/closing control valve (106); a detection unit (104) which detects the state of exhaust fuel gas flowing through the exhaust fuel gas supply line (45) within the range on the upstream side from the opening/closing control valve (106); and a control unit (a control device) (62) which controls the heating of the exhaust fuel gas supply line (45) by the heating means (102), and when the heating of the exhaust fuel gas supply line is determined to have been completed, opens the opening/closing control valve (106). |
