A liquid crystal display panel (100) and a display device applying same. The liquid crystal display panel (100) comprises a first substrate (110), a second substrate (120), a liquid crystal layer (130), and a quarter-wavelength pattern retardation plate (160). A second electrode of the second substrate (120) comprises a first sub-pixel area (102) and a second sub-pixel area (103). The first sub-pixel area (102) comprises a first main trunk part (124) and multiple first branch parts (125), where the angles between the first main trunk part (124) and the first branch parts (125) equal 45 degrees. The second sub-pixel area (103) comprises a second main trunk part (126) and multiple second branch parts (127), where the angles between the second main trunk part (126) and the second branch parts (127) are angles that are between 10 degrees and 80 degrees but not 45 degrees. When pixels are displaying an image, the voltage difference between a first voltage of the first sub-pixel area (102) and a second voltage of the second sub-pixel area (103) is inversely proportional to the grayscale of the image that is being displayed by the pixels. The liquid crystal display panel (100) and the display device are capable of improving on the problem of viewing angle for the pixels.
