The method involves arranging a light delivery device in the interior of the hollow component at a position for directional light emission. A detection device for detecting the light is arranged in the interior of the hollow component at another position. The measurement of the intensity distribution or the impact location of the light is carried out continuously or at intervals with a measuring device. The two locations in the direction of the longitudinal extension of the hollow component are away from each other. The measuring device is connected with the detection device and a light source is connected with the light delivery device by a light guide. An independent claim is included for a system for measuring a deflection of an elongated hollow component of a wind power plant from the normal position.
