A balancer apparatus (1) includes a balancer housing, a pair of balance shafts (3, 4), a bearing portion and a pair of gears. At least one bearing included in the bearing portion is constituted by a slide bearing. The balancer housing has (21) a gear housing portion that houses the gears (7, 8), and a lubricating oil supply passageway for supplying lubricating oil to the slide bearing. The gear housing portion has a pressure chamber (50) that is defined by tooth surfaces of the gears and a bottom surface and a side surface of the gear housing portion.
