Omega-aminocarboxylic acids are prepared by aminating omega-chlorocarboxylic acids of the formula Cl(CH2)nCOOH (wherein n is an integer of not less than 6) with liquid ammonia and separating the precipitate of omega-aminocarboxylic acid from the reaction mixture without evaporating the ammonia therefrom. Examples describe the preparation of omega-amino-enantic acid and omega-amino-pelargonic acid. |
