Multi section pole

A modular tent pole comprises means of locking the sections to each other to avoid unwanted separation of the sections when using the elongate object. An L shaped slot in a sleeve on a male end of a pole section is engaged with a pin or dimple on the inside wall of sleeve on a mating female end of a pole section. The male end has an insert which extends the length of the L shaped slot and engages the pin or dimple when the two parts are connected. The two sections are connected by a pushing and twisting action. The tent pole sections may be hollow and have elastic running through and between them. The poles may be of fibreglass or carbon fibre. The end sleeves may be of metal or plastic. The sleeves may be glued to the pole sections.
