PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a humidifier capable of reducing an ion concentration in water supplied from a water supply container and facilitating maintenance. SOLUTION: The humidifier 10 includes a water supply tank 12 and first and second ion adsorption electrodes (electrode group 100) arranged in the water supply tank 12. The ion adsorption electrode includes a conductive substance capable of adsorbing ions reversibly. The humidifier 10 executes: (i) an ion adsorbing process of adsorbing ions in water to the conductive substance by applying a voltage between the two ion adsorption electrodes in the water in the water supply tank 12; and (ii) an ion emission process of emitting the ions adsorbed to the conductive substance to the water in the water supply tank 12. During transition from the ion adsorbing process to the ion emission process, at least part of the conductive substance is kept to be immersed in the water in the water supply tank 12.
