[Also in Division B2] In a pneumatic conveyer, the rate of flow of powder issuing from a port 11 is controlled by the action of a radially disposed flow of auxiliary gas passing from a conduit 9. The latter leads to an annular channel in a block 5 in which the port 11 is formed. The block 5 is countersunk at 10 to provide a radial path for the auxiliary gas. By varying the pressure of the latter, the pressure of the gas issuing from the port 11 may be reduced to zero.
