摘要 According to the present invention, a silicon oxide particle contains 100-20,000 ppm of Cu, 20-1,000 ppm of Fe, and 1,000 ppm or below of Al; an average size of the silicon oxide particle is 30 μm; and a BET specific surface area of the silicon oxide particle is 0.5-30 m^2/g. The silicon oxide particles are used as a negative electrode material to produce a secondary battery containing non-aqueous electrolyte. The secondary battery maintains high capacity of a cell battery and low volume expansion of silicon oxide, and enhances cycle performance of the cell battery.
