PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction material that combines abrasion resistance and heat resistance (crack resistance), and a disc brake pad using the same.SOLUTION: A friction material comprises a facing material that includes an organic binder, metal, graphite and a friction modifier, and an underlayer material. Thermal conductivity of the facing material at 25°C is in the range of 4-6 W/m.K, and thermal conductivity of the underlayer material at 25°C is in the range of 1.5-3 W/m.K. |
