PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of path control of an optical network resource and wavelength assignment, which are requested from a plurality of virtual networks.SOLUTION: A resource manager 110 receives a plurality of virtual network requests and determines the number of virtual links to the individual virtual network requests. A plurality of virtual network requests are classified on the basis of the determined number of virtual links, the virtual network request is selected from the plurality of virtual network requests and the number of allowable spans is set. It is determined on which of a plurality of wavelengths valid virtual node mapping to the virtual network request exists on the basis of the allowable span, and the number of allowable spans is increased on the basis of determination that the valid virtual node mapping does not exist on any of the plurality of wavelengths.
