A flow heater apparatus (1) for heating liquid as it flows therethrough comprises: a liquid source (50) and a conduit (4, 5, 6; 105) for conveying liquid from the liquid source (50) towards an outlet (22; 112). The conduit (4, 5, 6; 105) comprises sequentially a first zone (4) and a second zone (5; 105); heating means (2) for heating liquid in the conduit (4, 5, 6; 105); and control means for controlling the rate of flow of fluid through the conduit (4, 5, 6; 105). The control means is in data communication with a first temperature sensor (54; 154) at a point between the first and second zones (4, 5; 105), a second temperature sensor (56; 156) upstream of the first temperature sensor (54; 154) and a third temperature sensor (58; 158) downstream of the first temperature sensor (54; 154). |
