<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce flow separation across struts of an exhaust diffuser for a gas turbine to enhance aerodynamic performance of the gas turbine.SOLUTION: An exhaust diffuser 18 includes an outer shroud, and an inner shroud radially separated from the outer shroud so as to define a fluid passage between the outer shroud and the inner shroud. A strut 26 extends between the outer shroud and the inner shroud. The strut 26 generally includes an outer surface, a leading edge 38, a trailing edge 42, a first side 34 and a second side 36. At least one turbulator 48 may be positioned along a radial span of the strut 26. The at least one turbulator 48 extends generally outwardly from the strut outer surface. The turbulator 48 extends across the leading edge 38 of the strut 26 from the first side 34 to the second side 36 of the strut 26.</p> |
