The examination management device (5) is provided with: a data transmitting and receiving unit (52) that transmits and receives data to and from a receiving device; a storage unit (53) that stores image data received from the receiving device; an input unit (51) that accepts input regarding a scheduled examination start time and date and a scheduled observation start time and date; an image processing unit (54b); a schedule generating unit (54a) that calculates, on the basis of the scheduled examination start time and date and the scheduled observation start time and date, an image transfer start time and date for transferring images from the receiving device to the examination management device (5), and the time and date to start processing the image data that has begun being transferred at said time and date; and a control unit (56) that transmits the image transfer start time and date to the data transmitting and receiving unit (52) and fetches the image data transmitted from the receiving device when the image transfer start time and date has been reached, and performs image processing on the image data fetched when the image transfer start time and date was reached on the image processing unit (54b).
