PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display system which is capable of displaying a high-quality image by suppressing the generation of a bright point, regardless of the incident angle of video light.SOLUTION: An image display system 100 includes a screen 200 having a polymer dispersion type liquid crystal layer 250 sandwiched by a pair of alignment films 231 and 232, a light projection device 900 emitting video light L' vibrated in a direction parallel to the rubbing direction A of the second alignment film 232, when viewed from the film thickness direction of the alignment film 232, a folding mirror 1000 reflecting the video light L' emitted from the light projection device 900, to make the video light L' incident on the side of the second alignment film 232 of the screen 200, and a retardation part 1100 located between the polymer dispersion type liquid crystal layer 250 and the folding mirror 1000 and allowing the video light L' reflected by the folding mirror 1000 and becoming elliptically polarized light to pass through, to impart a phase difference to the video light L', so that the elliptical ratio of the polarized light of the video light L' is reduced. |
