<p>The invention provides a method of performing stream thinning and explicit congestion notification in combination for a scalable-based video service. With a preferred technical solution of the invention, ECN and stream thinning can be applied in combination to a scalable-based video service, and a reliable explicit congestion notification and/or periodical explicit congestion notification summary report can be generated. Thus an RTP receiver can achieve a good effect of code rate or congestion control upon reception of the explicit congestion notification and/or periodical explicit congestion notification summary report. And ECN of the invention can be performed also taking into account temporal variability over a radio network. Moreover in the invention a network device can set different congestion events for the same scalable-based video service as needed, which will also be very beneficial to accurate congestion control performed at the RTP sender.</p> |
