<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform focus detection with sufficient precision in an arbitrary area of object images by installing many range finding zones.SOLUTION: A focus detection device arranges monitor sensors juxtaposing a minute sensor part 140m on a side of a line sensor juxtaposing a plurality of photodiode pairs 120Aj and 120Bj respectively. The minute sensor part 140m comprises a photoelectric conversion part 142, and a pixel signal readout circuit 144 for a monitor sensor for generating and outputting pixel signals. A side part 142T of the photoelectric conversion part 142 has length W wholly covering monitoring objects (eight photodiode pairs). Meanwhile, the focus detection device forms an end 142S of the photoelectric conversion part 142 in a form of a notch, and stores the pixel signal readout circuit 144 for a monitor sensor in a notch part 142S.</p> |
