An electronic capacity exchange system comprises one or more computing devices in communication with one another via at least one of a wired and wireless network. In one aspect, the system is configured to receive capacity orders for product and/or service capacity that include an associated order value in terms of non-monetary universal trading units (UTU's). The indication of interest is compared to its corresponding capacity order and if there is a match, a capacity may be consummated and executed.
