PURPOSE: A composite roll for rolling and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent interface separation and crack generation by minimizing stress due to connecting different materials. CONSTITUTION: A composite roll for rolling(100) comprises an inner layer(110), and a ring-shaped outer layer. The inner layer consists of a steel-based alloy, and has a recessed part(111) on outer side. The ring-shaped outer layer consists of a super-hard alloy and to be diffusion-contacted with the inner layer by being inserted into the recessed part. The recessed part is tapered. The tapered angle is 1-30°. Between the inner layer and the outer layer, an intermediate layer buffers the stress due to the difference of thermal expansion coefficient of the inner layer and the outer layer. The thermal expansion coefficient of the intermediate layer is 5×10-6mm/mm°C. The inner layer consists of 29wt% of Ni, 17wt% of Co and residual Fe. |
