The helmet (1) has a shell (2) that is made a fiber composite material (3a-3e). An elastomeric layer (4a,4b) is integrated to the helmet shell and/or the elastomeric layer is mounted in an area of the helmet shell that is provided interior of the helmet shell. The elastomeric layer is provided in the areas in which the ears of the helmet wearer are provided. The elastomeric layer extends over the entire helmet shell. The shell has several layers that are arranged one above the other. The elastomeric layer has thickness in specific range.
