The storage compartment assembly has an elastic band (9), which is limited by a clamping gap (17) that has reduced gap width (s-1) in a non-use position (I). The clamping gap has increased gap width in the position of use, and an object is inserted under elastic expansion of the band. An insertion aid is provided, by which the elastic band is brought from the non-use position into a preparatory intermediate layer, so that insertion operation of the object into the clamping gap is simplified.
