<p>The prior art discloses edge banding composed of mixed materials: metal and wood veneer. A process for production of a profile strip, in particular edge strip, is provided for low-cost production of a profile strip, in particular edge strip, with different decorative elements, which in particular is easier to process and has higher chemical resistance and moisture resistance, and also scratch resistance, the steps in the process being as follows: production of a plastics profile in the form of a core strip (1), application of a decorative base material (5) to an upper side of the core strip, application of a decorative finish (7) to the decorative base material, in such a way that the decorative finish hides sections of the decorative base material and forms, with the decorative base material, at least a portion of the decorative effect of the profile strip, where the decorative base material (5) applied comprises a foil.</p> |
