<p>A waste gate 290 for a turbocharger comprising an actuator 295 (figure 3), a housing 7 having a hole 1, inside which exhaust gas can flow, and a rotor symmetrical valve 2 (figure 5), for example a cylindrical or ball valve, internally fixed, preferably via a bushing 3, to the housing to continuously adjust the exhaust gas flow. The actuator is preferably connected to the valve by a pin 5, a lever 4 and a shaft 10. Preferably a sealing 8 is provided between the bushing and the shaft. The lever and the shaft may be welded together at an area 6. Preferably the diameter of the hole is equal to the internal diameter of the housing. Also claimed is an engine with a turbocharger comprising the waste gate. The invention mitigates abrasive wear caused by gas pulses and provides a valve with a lower required actuation force, better control and the absence of flow restriction when the valve is fully open.</p> |
