A sound reproducing apparatus according to the present invention includes: an azimuth information extractor for extracting azimuth information of a sound source from at least one piece of stereo sound information provided in pairs; a touchscreen for displaying an image; a reader for reading a touch status of the touchscreen; and a synthesizer for characterizing, synthesizing and outputting the sound source having the azimuth information which corresponds to a point touched on the image when comparing the sound source with other sound sources, according to the touch status. According to the present invention, various needs of a user can be satisfied by utilizing azimuth information of a sound source, user′s needs for reproduction of an image as well as sound can be satisfied, and an image reproducing apparatus with high utilization can be realized by actively using a video player and sound information.
