This solid-state image pickup element is provided with: a pixel section having a first pixel, in which a first photoelectric conversion section and a second photoelectric conversion section are aligned with each other in the first direction, and a second pixel, in which a third photoelectric conversion section and a fourth photoelectric conversion section are aligned with each other in the second direction; and first to fourth transfer gates, which transfer signal charges generated by means of the first to the fourth photoelectric conversion sections. At least one transfer gate among the first to the fourth transfer gates has different gate width and/or gate length and/or disposed position, such that voltage conversion efficiencies of first to fourth charge-voltage conversion sections are equal to each other. |
