PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reinforcing structure and a reinforcing method for an existing stone fall protective net which can effectively prevent a falling stone from going through the net and further can be easily applied to the existing stone fall protective net.SOLUTION: A reinforcing structure 40 for an existing stone fall protective net 10 comprises: a plurality of support posts 23 which are erected on a slope S at intervals in a width direction of the slope S; a main rope 31 which is tensioned between upper ends of the plurality of support posts 23; and a main net-like body 11 which is laid over the slope S while connecting and supporting the mountain-side end thereof to the main rope 31. Between the mountain-side end of the main net-like body 11 and the slope S, an opening 12 for guiding falling stones is formed. A reinforcing net-like body 43 the upper end of which is connected and supported to a reserve rope 42 tensioned between the upper ends of the support posts 23 is provided while being drooped from the reserve rope 42 to a side of the slope so as to close the opening 12.
