PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface light emitting laser array that suppresses accumulation of heat in an active layer.SOLUTION: A surface light emitting laser array includes a plurality of surface light emitting laser elements each having a structure of a surface light emitting laser element 1. A reflection layer 102 is formed of [n-AlAs/n-AlGaAs] having a period of 40.5; and each of resonator spacer layers 103 and 105 is formed of (AlGa)InP. An active layer 104 is formed of a well layer formed of GaInPAs and a quantum well structure including a barrier layer formed of GaInP. A reflection layer 106 is formed of [p-AlGaAs/AlGaAs] having a period of 24. A bottom face of a mesa structure is located in the middle of the resonator spacer layer 103.
