There is disclosed a child safety seat for a vehicle, comprising: a body adapted to receive the child therein, the body having a backrest portion and a seat portion; a headrest mounted to the body and configured to be extendible from an upper end of the backrest portion of the body; and at least one recess formed in the headrest to provide a passage 10 for a harness to pass therethrough to be secured with respect to an anchorage point on the vehicle positioned behind the body; wherein, the at least one recess is located in the headrest such that when the headrest is extended from the upper end of the backrest portion of the body, the harness passes through the at least one recess without contacting the body of the child safety seat.
