An ultrasonic diagnostic device (100) which determines the type of tumor in a subject comprises: an image formation unit (103) which forms an ultrasonic image that corresponds to echo signals received from the subject after administration of a contrast medium; a feature amount calculation unit (106) which categorizes each of a plurality of pixel areas included in a tumor area that includes the tumor in the ultrasonic image into low brightness areas and high brightness areas in which brightness is higher than the low brightness areas, and on the basis of a difference between distribution of the positions of the low brightness areas and distribution of the positions of the high brightness areas, calculates a ring degree of the image of the tumor area which indicates the degree of being in a ring shape where the brightness value of a center part is lower than the brightness value of a peripheral part that surrounds the center part; and a type determination unit (107) which determines the type of the tumor on the basis of the ring degree.
