The method involves determining a first correction value (TK) for a first control quantity (T) and a second correction value (QK) for a second control quantity. The first correction value for the first control quantity is calculated based upon time corresponding to integrated charge amount over a load surface. The second correction value for the second control quantity is computed based on the load surface such that time required for heading corresponds to uncorrected first control quantity. Size of load applied on a piezoelectric actuator (100) is corrected. An independent claim is also included for a device for controlling a fuel injection valve.
