PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new ruthenium-containing catalyst for producing high-calorie gas which can generate a saturated hydrocarbon gas component other than methane at a high concentration in high-calorie gas at a relatively low temperature, and to provide a technique for highly efficiently producing high-calorie gas in an energy saving manner by the catalyst for producing high-calorie gas.SOLUTION: Ruthenium is further carried on a metal oxide carrier, on which an iron group element is carried, by a wet reduction method.
