The present invention relates to a method for preparing an anhydrosugar alcohol by using polyol as a reaction diluent, and more specifically, in a method for converting hydrogenated sugar to anhydrosugar alcohol by a dehydration reaction, to a method for preparing the anhydrosugar alcohol which adds polyol as a diluent in a dehydration reaction and inhibits side reactions resulting from a concentration associated with the progress of the dehydration reaction, thereby improving a conversion rate.
