PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of efficiently producing dimethylol carboxylic acid derivative.SOLUTION: In a method of producing dimethylol carboxylic acid derivative, a culture product obtained by culturing microorganisms enhanced the activity of protein having a specific amino acid sequence, or mutant or homologous protein of the protein, or a treated product of the culture is used as an enzyme source. The enzyme source and tris(hydroxymethyl) derivative are present in an aqueous medium. In the aqueous medium, dimethylol carboxylic acid derivative is generated and accumulated, and the dimethylol carboxylic acid derivative is collected from the aqueous medium. |
