The method involves partially applying an OLED coating (4) rigidly onto the inner surface of a cylindrical, partly cylindrical or conical hollow housing (1). A discharge head (2) is uniformly moved inside the hollow housing along a longitudinal axis, during a coating process of the hollow housing. The hollow housing is rotated about the longitudinal axis during the coating process. A coating material (3) is delivered radially in all directions towards the outside from the discharge head. An independent claim is included for an OLED-based lamp.
