PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of reducing the size of the device and providing stable separation performance and image quality, and an image forming apparatus using the fixing device.SOLUTION: A fixing device 1 includes a fixing roller 2, heating roller 3, fixing belt 4, pressure roller 5, and separation pawls 6 and 7. The fixing device 1 further includes a separation auxiliary member 10 having a plurality of contact parts 10a, 10b, and 10c that are arranged at positions in the vicinity of the downstream side in a sheet conveyance direction of a pressure contact part N between the fixing roller 2 and pressure roller 5, so as to be in contact with an inner surface of the fixing belt 4, and can select any of the plurality of contact parts 10a, 10b, and 10c to be in contact with the fixing belt 4. |
