ENGINE STARTER AND START-UP METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine starter and a start-up method capable of shortening a starter driving prohibit segment while restricting wear and load on a starter within an allowable range and making a re-starting time earlier as much as possible.SOLUTION: A starter 101 is constituted by a magnet switch 102, pinion gear 103 and motor main body 105. A control device 109 prohibits a pinion gear from starting to move with a segment having less than a prescribed reverse rotation being applied as a starter drive prohibiting segment within an inverse rotation area immediately before an engine completely stops when the engine is automatically stopped; and the control device immediately starts movement of the pinion gear to an engine restarting request in an area other than the starter drive prohibiting segment, connects the pinion gear with a ring gear to start the engine and controls the restart of the engine on the basis of the number of revolution of the engine detected by an engine revolution sensor 110.
