The device (1) has magnets (7-9) e.g. permanent magnets, and a material that comprises metallic gadolinium arranged in proximity of the magnets or in the magnets. The magnets exert attractive force on the material, where the attractive force of the magnets is weakened on a region of the material by thermal action. The material is not in superconductive state during thermal action, and includes paramagnetic properties before thermal action and diamagnetic properties after thermal action. The magnets form a yoke that partially surrounds the material.
