<p>A roller bearing assembly and a method of making a roller element are provided. The roller bearing comprises a roller element 10 comprising a roller bearing surface 22 defined by a super-hard structure, and a race element 30 comprising a race bearing surface 32, which may optionally also be defined by a super-hard structure. The race element 30 and the roller element 10 are configured such that the roller element 10 can roll through at least one complete revolution about an axis of rolling rotation, throughout which rolling movement the roller bearing surface 22 abuts the race bearing surface 32. The super-hard structure is configured such that the roller element 10 is capable of supporting a load of at least 4,500 Newtons applied onto the roller bearing surface 22. A roller element 10 is also described, and a method of making the roller element 10.</p> |
