A method for forming a reinforced soil structure includes mounting a demountable rigid mould 2, adding a first soil portion 22 into the mould, and dispensing liquid reinforcing agent 24a into the mould. The mould may have a side portion 6 arranged to be upstanding from and surround a base 4, or a substantially sealed portion provided by a contact surface in order to provide a cavity (8, figure 1) for receiving the soil portion. The liquid may be acrylic, epoxy, polyester, natural polymer or other materials. A further soil portion may be added to the mould after the dispensing of the reinforcing agent. The mould contents may be placed under compression or may be vibrated, and a soil portion may be pre-treated with an enzyme soil stabilising agent. There is also a reinforced soil structure claimed, comprising a soil portion and a liquid reinforcing agent. |
