PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water cooling device excellent in the prevention of the deformation of a nozzle and arranged at a rapid cooling zone of continuous annealing equipment.SOLUTION: Provided is a water cooling device comprising a quench tank and two quench nozzles arranged so as to be confronted each other at intervals. Each quench nozzle is provided with a plurality of nozzles and a water feed pipe feeding cooling water to the nozzles. Both the edge parts in the horizontal direction of the respective two quench nozzles are rotatably supported by a supporting rotational mechanism provided in the quench tank in such a manner that the nozzles are confronted each other with a steel strip held between the two quench nozzles in the case the steel strip is water-cooled by the water cooling device, and the nozzles are faced with each other with the steel strip held in the case the steel strip is not water-cooled by the water cooling device. The supporting rotational mechanism has a gap of absorbing an expansion margin on at least either mechanism of supporting both the edge part of each quench nozzle. |
