PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlash adjusting device of a cam driving gear mechanism which can reduce members occupied on the outside of an internal combustion engine and can be miniaturized.SOLUTION: A backlash adjusting device 8 in which a rotative driving force of a crank shaft 11 is transmitted to a dynamic valve mechanism 3 by a cam driving gear mechanism 6 configured by interposing a driving gear and driven gears 62, 63, 64 engaged with each other therein, at least one of the gears engaged with each other is pivotally supported on the outer circumference, an eccentric support shaft 85 having a center shaft Z eccentrically set with respect to a rotation shaft center Y of the gears pivotally supported is provided on the internal combustion engine so as to make the fixation at a predetermined rotation angle position around the center shaft possible and, thereby, a gap amount between a pair of gears is adjusted includes: an adjustment part which allows that the eccentric support shaft is inserted to a base shaft 68 fixed on the internal combustion engine while making the center shaft of the eccentric support shaft to accord with a shaft line X of the base shaft and, at the same time, the inner circumference of the eccentric support shaft is inserted to the outer circumference of the base shaft at a predetermined rotation angle position between the base shaft and the inner circumference; and a fixation part 87 which fixes the eccentric support shaft to the base shaft by means of fixation means 87 screwed on the shaft line to the base shaft. |
