PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas-blast circuit breaker that achieves a lower temperature of a spray gas and a simple structure to largely reduce a drive operation force, can stabilize a flow of an arc-extinguishing gas, and has both excellent breaking performance and durability.SOLUTION: A gas-blast circuit breaker comprises: a pair of fixed arc electrodes 30a, 30b arranged facing each other in a sealed container filled with an arc-extinguishing gas 1; a compression puffer chamber 12 for retaining a pressurized gas 35 obtained by increasing a pressure of the arc-extinguishing gas 1; an insulating nozzle 32 for guiding the pressurized gas 35 from the compression puffer chamber 12 toward an arc discharge 7; a buffer chamber 36 for temporarily storing a heat exhaust gas 20 generated by heat of the arc discharge 7; and a pressurized gas circulation space 43 communicating with the compression puffer chamber 12. In a first half of a current interruption, the heat exhaust gas 20 is prevented from entering the pressurized gas circulation space 43 with an opening-closing part 41 in a closed state, and in a last half of the current interruption, the opening-closing part 41 opens to flow the pressurized gas 35 into the pressurized gas circulation space 43. |
